This Cambridge National Certificate (CNC) is the equivalent of a GCSE and comprises of an examination at the end of Year 10, alongside two pieces of coursework that are completed during Year 11. 

 

The topics covered in the course are:

Understanding antenatal care and preparation for birth

Understanding postnatal checks, postnatal provision and conditions for development

Understanding how to recognise, manage and prevent childhood illnesses

Understanding child safety

Understanding the equipment and nutritional needs of children from birth to five years

Understanding the development norms of a child from birth to five years

 

Unit 1: Written paper - Health and Wellbeing for Child Development
