U16 Girls Football take a 13-3 win
The Under 16 Girls Football Team’s first game of the season took place recently against local rivals Kings in the National Cup competition. Last year Kings Under 16 team had a fantastic season and made it through to the National Finals so Henry Beaufort knew this game would be a battle!
The first 10 minutes were tense but once Georgia (Captain) broke the deadlock the girls relaxed and started to play some incredible football. Some incredible performances in defense from Megan and Kate who shut down any Kings attacks quickly. The midfield including Emily and Alicia were causing trouble and always looked dangerous on the break and Shauna was strong in the middle of the pitch. Strikers Georgia and Imogen were putting the goal keeper under lots of pressure.
At half time the score was 6-1 to Henry Beaufort. The girls continued to play some excellent football in the second half and the final score was 13-3 to Henry Beaufort. We now face St Edmunds, Salisbury in the next round.
The girls also have the County cup to look forward too and will play Bohunt in the first round.
Good luck girls!
