Henry Beaufort success at Maths Feast 2015
Four Gifted Henry Beaufort Mathematicians head to Basingstoke for QMC's Maths Feast
The Gifted Henry Beaufort Mathematicians were seeking success when they headed to Basingstoke to take part in a Maths Feast, alongside 10 other local schools, last half term.
Four Year 10 students took part in a ‘Maths Feast’ being held at QMC in Basingstoke. The Feast was run by the Further Maths Support Programme (FMSP).
Josh Payne, Aaron Freemantle, Dylan Harley and Imogen Hawkes represented Henry Beaufort. They were put through their paces with six rounds of various Mathematically based challenges.
The rounds tested their ability to work individually and then as a team. The team were especially tested when given the challenge to make a tower of Columbus cubes. Meanwhile a comprehension round featuring ‘Set theory’ also challenged the students.
The students performed well on the day and enjoyed the challenge. There wasn’t an overall winner announced, but the Henry Beaufort team did win two of the six rounds. Well done Team HB!
