Performance Tables 2018
We are delighted to share with you that in the published Performance Tables for 2018 our Progress 8 score is 0.22. We are particularly thrilled that the proportion of our students achieving a grade 5 or higher in both Mathematics and English places us 5th in Hampshire!
Also of note is the progress of our middle attainers; this cohort achieved a Progress 8 score of 0.52, meaning that they achieved on average across all of their GCSE’s, over half a grade higher than their prior attainment projected.
Other elements of note are the EBacc performance data, which accrued a Progress 8 score of 0.52, and the overall percentage of students entering the English Baccalaureate which was 47.9%.
There was a great deal of national publicity around the marking of the GCSE exams this year and concerns about the accuracy of exam marking.
In a number of subjects the school pushed for a second phase appeal and their tenacity paid off with more students being awarded an upgrade on their original result. This was particularly important for students aiming for grades 7, 8 and 9 in English, results that went up as a result of the school’s appeal. The difference in the grades now awarded to these students means that they will have a much greater chance of being accepted at a Russell Group university.
Unfortunately the second wave of appeal results came too late to include in the published performance tables.
