The Beacon Arts Centre is the base for Art, Drama and Music at The Henry Beaufort School. Its modern construction provides light and spacious rooms designed specifically for these subjects. Inside, there are two art rooms packed with materials for arts, crafts and pottery. There are also two large drama studios which can be opened into one double studio, and two fully equipped music rooms with an adjoining recording studio and practice rooms. In addition, there are sixteen dedicated computer workstations with specialist music sequencing and digital audio editing applications.
The facilities for PE in Athens are extensive, allowing a variety of options for indoor and outdoor sports and games. There are three grass pitches equipped for football, rugby, athletics, cricket, and rounders. There are also four hard courts for tennis and netball. The Sports Hall and Gymnasium are fully equipped for a range of activities including gymnastics, badminton, volleyball, basketball and dance.
Athens encourages and inspires students to achieve their full potential in the Arts and PE and gives students the opportunity to pursue these academic areas in extracurricular activities.
GCSE Media Studies is offered as an option for students and introduces them to a variety of forms of media. It is a very creative course that allows students to pursue their own interest in the media within the framework of the exam. Students will get the opportunity to learn how to use Photoshop and to edit short films.
