Henry Beaufort: A Technology & Humanities Specialist School

macs In 2002, Henry Beaufort was awarded with specialist school status and a designation as a Technology College. Our aim has been to “Create Excellence through Technology” and this focus has encouraged the school’s development as a dynamic learning community, not merely within the key technology areas, but across the school as a whole.

Embracing this status, we have created an environment where staff and students have access to a range of equipment of the highest standard, raising the quality and breadth of opportunities throughout the curriculum. As a result, we have seen inventive use of our website and our virtual learning environment, a feature that allows students access to the school’s network from home, imaginative use of interactive whiteboards and much use of audio and video equipment across the curriculum.

As a result, standards have quantifiably risen, placing us consistently in the top 10% of schools nationally. Our success as a specialist school has been rewarded with our designation as a Humanities College, further expanding our curriculum provision and our work within the Henry Beaufort learning community.

The Local Community

Henry Beaufort School has very close ties with our local primary schools with teachers visiting, participating in and leading various projects involving younger students benefiting from our school resources and technology and good practice.
