Exam Results

A top performing school in the country!

Henry Beaufort School’s reputation for nurturing students of all abilities has been reinforced by ongoing national data, demonstrating the progress students make between KS2 and GCSE results. The data indicates that when the progress of students over five years is measured, Henry Beaufort is one of the best school’s for getting the best out of not just some students, but all students.

A particular feature of the data, provided by a group called Fisher Family Trust , shows this extraordinary progress occurs with all students, especially those that are deemed Gifted and Talented. Overall, the results in both 2008 and 2009, indicate that Henry Beaufort is one of the top 10% of schools in the country.

A source of particular pride is that 96% of students in 2009 gained a GCSE equivalent pass with 100% of students gaining 5 GCSE qualifications or more. The data indicates that when you look at the academic progress (value added) of students over the past three years, both boys and girls perform at a similar rate bucking the national trend. In additon, our gifted and talented students, who gain 5 or more A*/A grades, make one of the highest rates of progress, demonstrating the success of the school’s ethos of creating independent learners and thinkers.

GCSE Results 2009

Once again, HB students excelled in their exam results. Lots of departments have had fantastic results and this will once again keep HB as one of the top schools in the country for academic progress of ‘value added.’

  • Results in English and Mathematics were excellent, with Maths gaining one of the highest results in the county- 76% of students gaining top grades.
  • Our Gifted and Talented students took an average of 12 GCSE’s and 70% of grades were A* or A.
  • Over 10% of students enter our final Year 11 already having achieved 3 or more GCSE’s at A* or A.
  • Overall, 77% of students gained 5+ A*-C, with 66% gaining this with English and Maths GCSE. Over 40% of grades were either ‘A’ or ‘B’ with over 50% of students gaining at least one ‘A’ grade.

Much praise should also be given to students who studied a BTEC course, as they achieved a near 100% pass rate that is equivalent to grades at C and above.

Congratulations to all students on their wonderful achievements this year!
